BOWLING CLUB DEFICIT. - The annual meeting of the St. Ives Bowling Club was held at the "Dolphin" on Thursday by kind permission of Mr. F. Dew. The president (Mr. T. Noble) presided, supported by Mr. A. Golding (treasurer), Mr. G. A. Harrison (secretary) and a small number of members.

The treasurer presented the statement of accounts, showing an adverse balance on the past season of £9, from which it appeared that with the present membership the Club could not be run without incurring a loss each season of about £10. It was suggested that each member should try to obtain another and it was also decided to invite donations from members to clear the deficit. The secretary received a generous response towards the end of the meeting.

The opening day this season will be Saturday, May 1st. Competitions will again be run by Mr. G. Jacob.

Election of officers : President Mr. T. Noble, vice-president Mr. V. Sawkins; captain, Mr P. E. Doyle; vice captain Mr. J. Shrimpton; hon treasurer, Mr. A. Golding; hon. secretary, Mr. G. A. Harrison; committee : Messrs. Angood, Dew, Jacob, Clements, Boncey, Nicholls, and Hill. Mr. Wright was re-appointed groundsman.
